Senior Project Manager - Transportation
FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervisor: Vice President, Director of Transportation
Responsibilities:
Marketing and Business Development:
- Development and execution of the transportation practice marketing/business plans
- Business development through networking and relationship development within the transportation planning and design community at all levels, including local, regional, state and federal entities.
- Participate in organizing and writing major proposals and statements of qualification
- Lead and/or participate in presentations and interviews as appropriate
- Maintain an active participation in selected professional societies and appropriate transportation related groups and agencies
- Generate new client sales to Matrix at annual targeted rates.
- Oversight and approval of program/project direction
- Maintain effective communications with project teams and clients
- Oversight and approval of work plans and schedules
- Oversee quality assurance for all programs/projects
- Monitor and manage financial aspects of all programs/projects with billing department
Leadership and Development within the Transportation Practice:
- Plan, organize and direct Transportation Practices to maintain quality, efficiency and sustainability
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff. Recommend appropriate training.
- Ensure that the staff resources are deployed in a productive and profitable manner.
- Conduct regular meetings to ensure that project/program needs are balanced with staff availability.
Corporate Contributions:

Develop partnering relationships with Matrix leadership to assist on multi-disciplines projects

Establish working relationships with seniro leadership within Matrix and offer assistance in marketing, proposal, writing and contract negotiations.

Provide comments and suggestions for the direction of the firm

Maintain billability at annaul targeted rates.
Qualifications:
- 15-20 years of progressive comprehensive transportation experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Graduate degree a plus. Colorado PE required.
- Strong background in urban planning, transportation and traffic management theory and practice, transportation infrastructure, public transportation and other related areas.
- Strong industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state and federal funding.
- Significant experience and understanding of local, regional, state and federal DOT policies, programs and procedures.
- Ability to provide leadership, oversight and mentorship to individuals and teams.
- Demonstrated project and program management experience.
- Excellent communications and presentation skills.
