Guam Compatibility Sustainability Study

Matrix Design Group is under contract with the Office of Governor Calvo, Territory of Guam, to provide a range of planning, environmental and fiscal / financial advisory services for the people of Guam. Key tasks include:

Development of a Compatibility Sustainability Study (CSS) to address the potential military buildup and how planning can assist in ensuring compatible future development. A key issue evaluated was protection of existing tourism resources and sites that have potential for future development and use.

Development of a Five Year Health and Social Services Strategic Plan (HSS) to holistically address the provision of these services on Guam and Guam’s role in the regional setting. The HSS addresses issues ranging from healthier lifestyles, to communicable diseases, to domestic violence. The development of the HSS was coordinated with federal agencies to ensure support for future implementation.

The Advisory Services were supported by a comprehensive public outreach plan that included public workshops, open house events, subcommittee workshops, focused interviews with key stakeholders, development and maintenance of a program website, media support and conduct of a telephone opinion survey.
