Matrix Design Group will share reuse plan progress for the closed Iowa Juvenile Home - State Training School for Girls property in Toledo. The public meeting is set for Monday, Feb. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at the Reinig-Toledo Civic Center, 1007 Prospect Drive.
The 27-acre campus has been idle since Jan. 15, 2014, when it was ordered closed by Gov. Terry Branstad and Human Services Director Charles Palmer. The closing cost 93 jobs at the facility which had been in operation in Toledo since 1920.
The Matrix Group was hired by the Iowa Economic Development Authority to develop plans for the property as well as closed state mental health institutions in Mt. Pleasant and Clarinda.
