Matrix provided professional services to the Valley Partnership Joint Development Authority (VPJDA) with regard to conducting an economic impact assessment of the drawdown of nearly 3,400 service personnel from Fort Benning. The impacts estimated include the total economic effects (direct, indirect, and induced) of gross regional product, regional employment, personal wages, and personal consumption. Furthermore, our assessment examined the impacts to the regional housing market, schools, childcare services, and demand for other public services. This assessment included a series of formal and informal public meetings facilitates by Matrix to collect community input from a variety of regional stakeholders. Based on the study’s findings, Matrix assisted the VPJDA with developing a mitigation and growth strategy moving forward.
