Matrix was retained by the Military Enhancement Committee (MEC) of Beaufort, South Carolina, to develop and execute a strategic communication plan and to provide defense community consulting support. As part of plan development, our team led the committee through a rebranding effort to update their logo that was over 20 years old, developed a new website,  and created social media accounts and content for stakeholder outreach, education, and engagement.

Matrix also helped launch the Defense Community Partnership Task Force that consists of five appointed members from Beaufort County, the Town of Port Royal, the City of Beaufort, the MEC, and Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the task force is to strengthen the resiliency, military mission value, and economic impact of the region’s military installations through a community-driven approach to partnering with the military.

Our team also facilitated several working groups to identify the best use for Naval Hospital Beaufort when medical personnel are transitioned from the installation in the future. We worked with government and industry personnel across the region to develop multiple potential courses of action that were discussed with the Navy to garner buy-in and support for redeveloping the under-utilized property.
