An important step in developing a strategic plan is understanding what you do well and what areas you need to improve on through a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis. This exercise helps identify opportunities for improving and exposing blind spots or gaps that must be mitigated before moving forward. Completing a SWOT analysis and strategic plan often requires the support of a qualified third-party facilitator.
