Emerging Contaminants
Matrix will help you tackle the challenges of emerging contaminants.
Matrix provides investigation, remediation, and consulting services for emerging contaminants that are ecological or human health concerns, including per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), 1,4-dioxane, microplastics, and pharmaceuticals.
PFAS comprises a large class of fluorinated compounds that have been widely used in aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) for fuel firefighting purposes and many everyday consumer products, including nonstick cookware. PFAS compounds are a challenging environmental problem because they are very mobile, resistant to degradation, persist in the environment, and are difficult to detect. Our technical experts have experience in defining the nature and extent of contaminants, evaluating human health and ecological risk, and implementing effective treatment to help clients achieve solutions that are protective of human health and the environment. We bring more than 20 years of environmental characterization and remediation experience with projects of all sizes. Our diverse staff is adept at employing proven solutions to tackle complex problems that consider the uncertainties of rapidly evolving state and federal regulations.
